Produced by a commercial processor, with computer generated production notes in the bottom margin, and dated 17 years after the fact, in 2004. Neatly Signed by the photographer, African-American artist and author Ted Pontiflet ("Pontiflet") in lower right corner in fine point gold sharpie. Fine. The funeral was held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York in 1987. The first image depicts four mourners: Borough President of Manhattan (and later New York City Mayor) David Dinkins, Amiri Baraka, Maya Angelou, and Toni Morrison, emerging from the service understandably distraught. Baraka, Angelou, and Morrison had each given eulogies at the service. The second image depicts six pallbearers carrying Baldwin's coffin down the steps of the Cathedral, where it was reportedly accompanied by the thunderous drumming of the Nigerian percussion master Babatunde Olatunji.
