His verse sporadically appears to go spiralling with irony and sarcasm. The vehement flow of love torrent in his poems sometimes assumes the grimace guise. Modernity and urbanity blur the brightness of ancestral custom and present it with a borrowed face. Rarefying filial love leads to laxity in family bonds and affection. Ezekiel tried to take off the chintzed blankets from over the sinful life of women, the pseudo pride of unwise men in Indian patriarchal society. He tried to bring to light the factitious man-woman relationship. His humorous castigation on deformed love, lust, marriage, gender bias and caste system manifests in his poetry edifying dunce, blunt and malevolent society.
