Reads 'My dear Sir, | A friend of mine lays claim to the Arrandale Peerage & estates - do you happen to possess any documents of any kind which can throw light upon the subject & assist him in the prosecution of his claims - He claims I believe from Lord John Johnstone who was in Newgate for Treason about the year 1700, but was never convicted - Yrs. very truly | H S Cotton'. Addressed to 'William Upcott Esq. | London Institution' on verso of second leaf of bifolium, which carries a clear impression of Cotton's crest in a seal of black wax.

He states that his 'Boswelliana', which was 'published at a guinea can be got for twelve shillings', and that 'a bookseller has undertaken to hunt for 'A Century of Scottish Life' which has long been sold off; it will cost you six shillings - six was the original price.' After forwarding the address of Sabine Baring-Gould he states that he is 'now living in Edinburgh at the above address'.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. This is actually and entire file of material from the Bits and Pieces magazine and the files of its publisher Mable Brown. She appears to have been in correstpondence with Ziolkowski for an article she was doing. I do not know if the article was ever completed or not there is no copy of Bits and Pieces included. There are 3 copies of the Swastek Polish Builders of America series booklet Korczak Ziolkowski 2 are sixth editions and one is a second edition. One of the sixth editions is signed across the front cover in black marker eith bold hand by Ziolkowski. There are also 2 black and white photos of Chief Standing Bear in different positions. There is a letter and envelope postmarked in 1968 in Crazy Horse SD from Ruth Ziolkowski to mrs. Brown asking for additiona copie of Bits and Pieces article on Chief Standing Bear. There are also two postcards from Crazy Horse SD with writting on the back of one that matches the letter. There is an 8X10 photo with the miniature sculptue of Crazy Horse superimposed over the uncarved mountain showing what the artist sees inside the rock. There is a large fold out photo section with several phots of artist and work approx. 25 X 18 inches and numerous articles from magazines and newspapers. Signed by Subject.
