Hardcover, 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, original tan pictorial cloth (stamped gilt, red and green drawing of Elfie sitting amidst some stalks of wheat with the Katydid…) , 80 pp, glossy paper, illustrated with black and white plates and in-text drawings (all present) . Good+, no dustjacket. Foxing and some soil on cloth, corners lightly bumped. Internally, front hinge cracked (glue repaired) , additional hinge cracks between a few of the gatherings, bit of foxing on endpapers, with a few stray spots of it and an occasional smudge in-text, tissue guard creased, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked. Children's; fantasy; fairies; imps; humor; Victorian.
