LP 30 cm. Farbig illustriertes OCover. Cover am oberen Falz beim Einschub ca. 5 mm aufgeplatzt, sonst sehr gut. Platte so gut wie tadellos. Erstpressung. Enthält neben dem Titelstück "Francies Theme", "Summertime", "Blue and Sentimental", "You'll love France, "Tenderly" u.a. Vier der Titel gehören zum Soundtrack des Alfred Hitchcock-Film "To catch a Thief" (deutscher Titel "Über den Dächern von Nizza"). Kanadischer Tenorsaxophonist, Klarinettist, Bandleader und Schauspieler (1919-1990), der seit Ende der 1920er-Jahre in den USA lebte. Seine ersten Auftritte mit eigenen Gruppen hatte er in Grenwich Village, New York. Später spielte er in den Orchestern von Bunny Berigan, Artie Shaw und Benny Goodman. 1949 gab er am Broadway sein Debut als Schauspieler in Garson Kanins Theaterstück "The Rat Race" und 1977 spielte er in dem Film "New York, New York" einen Bandleader. Weitere Musiker mit denen er zusammenspielte waren u.a. Erroll Garner, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Eckstine und Frank Rosalino, mit letzterem gründete er zusammen eine Bigband.
