Auguste Haussmann (Winterzenheim 1815 - Alger-Mustapha 1874) diplomate, fut nommé consul de France au Cap de Bonne-Espérance où il recueillit des traditions, encore vivantes alors, auprès des descendants des huguenots français partis s'installer au Cap après la révocation de l'Edit de Nantes.
