Scarce edition of this scholarly text on the Cyprus Passion Cycle, a rarely studied manuscript contained in the Vatican Library of the scenario representing Christ's Passion from the Last Supper to the Crucifixion. Published by the University of Notre Dame as a part of their Medieval Studies seri…es, Mahr covers the history and providence of the manuscript, includes commentaries on each individual scene, as well as reproducing the text in both Greek and English with commentary. Hardcover, 6.5" x 9.5", 224 pgs. Binding is solid and square. Midnight blue covered boards with bright gilt lettering on the cover and spine all in excellent condition, quite attractive. Interior crisp and unmarked. Small bump on the bottom edge of the front board and minor wear to the corners, very little shelf wear. Overall an excellent copy of this scholarly resource.
