This near fine copy is bound in full calf covered boards with raised bands to six compartments with the title to a burgundy panel in the second and gilt decoration to the rest, there are gilt borders to the upper and lower boards and an ornate gilt latin device of Glasgow Academy to the upper board. There are marbled endpapers and blind dentelles. There are matching marbled page edges all round There is some spotting to the prelims It ius believed that this has been bound by David Bryce & Son Glasgow. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased charges will be quoted. Canon Atkinson is now best remembered for two of his published works - British birds' eggs and their nests and Forty years in a moorland parish although he published many more. Those volumes with a natural history content were particularly aimed at young people. He was also a noted antiquarian with particular interest in the archaeology, folk-lore, dialect and history of his adopted home in Danby, Yorkshire, and the surrounding Cleveland district.
