Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. Book is like new in black cloth with white lettering and photographic color endpapers of a rocket launch. Illustrated profusely throughout with black and white photos. The jacket is damaged on the back cover with a long closed and repaired tear, creasing, and small heat bubbles. There are a couple of chips to spine ends not affecting lettering and spine and front cover look pretty good. The jacket has done a great job of protecting the book all these years.

Condition: VG/VG (see notes). 1st printing. 8vo. 352pp. Slightest bow to covers. DJ has 1/8" deep stained lines top and bottom. edges, likely from an old-style mylar DJ protector. Not too bad, but not a top of the line 1st.

A crisp, clean copy, very good, with modest bumps to the top corners and a few tiny abrasions to the bottom edge. Contents clean and sound. Gift inscription, dated 1963, on the front paste-down, mostly concealed by the jacket flap. In a very good price-clipped dust jacket, with some short tears to the extremities, and the publisher's lamination mis-applied along the front spine joint; true of many copies. With all faults, still a rather nice copy of this very popular account of the Mercury Seven.
