Hardcover. Condition: As New. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Super fine, just about as new, clean copy of this numbered private, limited edition this being numbered 242. (Not sure of print run though.) Signed by Bridget Astor (of Hever Castle.) The book was produced in honour of her father, Gavin Astor of Hever, June 1st 1918 to June 28th, 1984. It is further gift inscribed to a family friend "To dear Margaret (Payne) with best wishes and many thanks for all you did for my mother, Bridget, September 2001." The recipient lived locally and had been a children's librarian for many years. Clearly she had a close association with the Astor family. Red cloth boards with gilt titles and motif on front. A lovely copy with great provenance.
