Classic short novel by Spanish Baroque dramatist Tirso de Molina. Translated from the original Spanish by Ilsa Barea with color illustrations by Arthur Wragg.

He was imprisoned as a conscientious objector in England during WWII. This book was published a year after that conflict, and embodies the chiaroscuro . block style of his pre-fantastical phase of the mid-1950s when he did poster art and album covers for Argo records.
