Hardcover. Condition: Very Good Minus. In French. This may be the first of this edition or it may not. 1924 is on the title page. 'Achevé d'imprimer le 30 novembre 1924 par Jean Langlois Imprimeur à Paris' is on the last page of the book. The copyright page states 'Il a été de cet ouvrage soixante Exemplaires imprimés sur papier du Japan, numerotes de 1 a 60 et contenant une epreuve de la couverture avant la lettre et une planche supplementaire hors texte en couleurs.' But this book does not have any number from 1 to 60 stamped or otherwise indicated anywhere. Nor does it have an additional color plate. I've spent too much time trying to figure out which edition it is. There aren't too many copies of this book around. Several of the sellers have softcover editions. Someone in France is selling a book for $600.00 but I don't think it is the book I have, though I'm not sure. Someone else is selling a book for considerably less that appears to resemble mine but is in English rather than French. So, I'm going to have to leave this to more knowledgeable collectors to figure out. Feel free to contact me for additional photographs or with any questions. You can see the covers in the photos. They're in pretty nice shape. The gilt lettering on the spine looks bright. There is some scuffing on the leather of the spine and on the leather of the corners. The vertical lines of scuffing on both sides of the spine are superficial and do not have any impact on the binding. There's also little bit of scuffing at the corners and on the edges, more so on the bottom rear edge. The top page edge is gilt. It looks good. The middle and bottom page edges appear to be rough-cut, but so smooth that I'm not sure. If so, they did an excellent job. The book is square and the spine looks straight. The binding is solid. I don't see any issues. The covers are nicely tight. I don't see any cracks or spaces anywhere. The text pages, which includes the pages with monochrome illustrations, are in very decent condition. They are very clean. I don't see any conspicuous creasing, no placeholder creases, a little crinkling here and there. By contrast, the four color plates have fairly significant foxing, but only at their margins, their blank verse those are quite foxed as well. A few of the facing text pages have a little bit of light foxing. There are no markings in the book. No one has written their name or anything else anywhere. There is one attachment. On the front inside cover someone affixed a little color photograph of the Reclining Nude from the Louvre in Paris. 'Armand Guillaumin was a French impressionist painter and lithographer. He was given large solo exhibitions at many of the top Parisian galleries, including Galeries Durand-Ruel in 1895, Galerie Ambroise Vollard in 1897, Galerie Bernheim-Jeune in 1901 and 1906, and Galerie Paul Rosenberg in 1908. Noted for their intense colours, Guillaumin's paintings are represented in major museums around the world. These include the Musée d'Orsay (48 works) and Petit Palais (91 works) in Paris, the Tate in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, and the Art Institute of Chicago.'.
