Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. None. First Edition. Original quarter vellum and brown boards with color pictorial pastedown and black titles. Undated as usual in Blackie titles, but as the style is of the author's Josephine books of the 1910's period, we are assuming it belongs to that period, and its rarity (no copies on ABE) would indicate a single printing. Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Thus. Lovely turn-of-the-century (c. 1900, no date in book) edition of 14 beloved fairy tales by Andersen, most complemented with a full-page watercolor plate (11 total - all intact), + a full-color Frontispiece by acclaimed British children's book artist Honor C. Appleton (1879-1951). In 179 pages, with lovely duotone endpapers also illustrated by Ms.Appleton, as well as many of her pen-and-ink drawings throughout. Oversized (quarto) hardcover has brown cloth over boards with embossed black lettering to front & spine. Condition is Good: generally quite clean, with perhaps a random spot or smudge. The plates are . all intact & clean: only one has any edgewear. The frontispiece, however, seems to have been torn close to the binding & taped; remnants of old Scotch tape in that crease & some wrinkling to opposite side; image is still lovely! Other flaws: mild corner bumping, slight rubbing, some surface spotting & soil to both boards. All in all, a decent copy of a gorgeous edition with lovely illustrations Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive from us, never "stock" image of books we don't actually have! All orders processed before 2 pm Weekdays (Pacific time) ship that same day; later orders, weekends & holidays ship very next business day. SORRY: book is too large for any expedited domestic or international shipping without preapproval of extra postage. Appleton, Honor C. (illustrator).…
