[ISLE OF MAN MANX HISTORY / INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING TOPOGRAPHY / VALENTINE'S SERIES] Original Edwardian era color lithograph topographical and industrial postcard titled in elegant flowing typography across the upper margin: "The 'Lady Isabella' Great Wheel, Laxey, I.O.M." Published as entry No. 02952 JV in the highly collectible "Valentine's Series" by Valentine & Sons, bearing their vertical central divider credit, "Printed in Great Britain", and "BRITISH MANUFACTURE" box stamp on the reverse. HISTORICAL IMAGERY & TECHNICAL DATA: A vibrant, historically significant view capturing the iconic "Lady Isabella" Laxey Wheel, constructed in 1854 by industrial engineer Robert Casement to pump water from the deep shafts of the Laxey mining complex. The graphic showcases the immense red-painted waterwheel, its classic white stone aqueduct arches, and early tourists standing atop the high viewing platform structure. A scenic view of Laxey village and the surrounding green Manx valleys fills the background. Of distinct significance to industrial historians, the upper left corner features a detailed block of printed technical data: "Erected 1854 / Circumference, 227 feet / Diameter, 72 1/2 feet / Breadth, 6 feet / Raises 250 gallons per minute / Horse power, 200." POSTAL HISTORY & CONDITION: This specimen is postally unused, preserving a completely immaculate reverse face. The back features crisp grey-printed layout lines including an elegant, flowing "POST CARD" header, standard instruction notes, and an open, unused square stamp block compartment marked with the regional printer reference number "3". CONDITION: Very Good antique condition. The color-lithographed face remains exceptionally bright, clean, and smooth with bold pigments, sharp textual clarity, and no surface scuffs, scrapes, or fading. Cardstock is structurally firm and flat with straight borders and only minimal, standard tip rubbing at the corners from historic album storage. The reverse cardstock face shows light, completely natural uniform age-toning but is entirely free of writing ink, adhesive stains, modern pencil marks, or foxing ringlets. Completely free of structural creases, tears, or folds. A beautifully preserved, museum-grade crossover specimen appealing equally to collectors of Manx mining history, Victorian industrial engineering landmarks, and Edwardian publisher series printing.
