Captures General Kearney's march over the Santa Fe Trail in 1846 as described by Lt. Elliott with the Laclede Rangers and also a correspondent to the St. Louis Reveille newspaper. A first hand account of the Mexican War. Elliott's letters were published originally in the St. Louis Reveille as they arrived from the war. This is the first book edition.
