Blue cloth covered boards with gilt titling to spine, in a pale grey dustjacket with titling and illustration in red, color frontispiece. Published in 1957 with no additional printings listed. Some sunning to spine of jacket, with light to moderate soil and light splash marks. Small 13 mm closed tear at head of spine of jacket, with a few other small nicks to head and tail of panels. Jacket has not been price clipped, and is protected in a mylar cover. Some toning and soil along folds. Light rubbing to spine ends and corners of boards of book. Faint light spot to front board as well as along tail of rear board. Interior is clean and unmarked. Binding sound. A highly uncommon first printing of the second and revised edition of 1957.
