Andreas earlier atlases, and a great example of an early illustrated county atlas. Contains numerous views of the county, portraits, and an illinois state map. Andreas was one of the 'most active' midwestern cartographers and one of the early developers of the illustrated county and state atlas. Andreas, Lyter & Company was formed with his brother and law and the firm was his first attempt at atlases. They published eleven or twelve atlases between 1870 and 1873 of Illinois counties [Rostow].
