It illustrates the events that marked the English invasion of Rio de la Plata. Many of these writings came from the private library of collector Don Vicente Fidel Lopez. The book is divided in three parts dealing with the conquest, the reconquest and the defense of Buenos Aires in 1806 and 1807. All documents are listed in chronological order. This collection meant to fill the gap of works gathering crucial primary sources relating to the period, which was deemed by the editor of great importance for the path towards of national emancipation.
