Minimal wear to the blue cloth boards. Chief blemish is discolouration and foxing to the spines, else very good+. Interiors are both clean and unmarked with tight, solid bindings. Five fold out maps in excellent shape. Due to the combined size and weight of this set, additional shipping charges will be required.

2 vols. 8vo. Publisher's original pale blue cloth gilt, in the dust-jackets. Some faint wear to jackets, first few leaves of Vol.1 with some folds, generally a very good set. The Hakluyt Society was founded in 1846 in London for the publication of primary sources of exploration and discovery expeditions. They were named after Richard Hakluyt (1552-1616) a collector and editor of narratives of voyages and travels. The publications are primarily from English expeditions related to English interests from the 17th century on. These volumes cover the early search for the North West Passage through Hudson Bay, which was determined not to lead to the Pacific Ocean.
