(26) pp. illustrated with color and black and white drawings. Very good, modest wear at the extremities, couple very small scratched near top edge of front cover. A vintage children's classic, the story of an old fashioned family (mid 19th century by the look of the pictures) with two grown sisters, a teen aged brother and almost four-year-old Reuben.

There is a gift inscription on the front endpaper, but few signs of use. The marvelous jacket is only slightly chipped. It is now protected by a mylar Brodart cover. The Scribner's first-edition A is present. Clean and tight.
