Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Herschel Levit (illustrator). 1st Edition. This curious fantasy novel was first published in the pulp fantasy magazine, "Unknown" in 1941. Here, in book form, it was the first title from the short-lived (four years) publisher The Prime Press, which published some interesting science fiction and fantasy works including novels by Theodore Sturgeon and L. Sprague de Camp. The print run for this book was reportedly 5,000 copies. The illustrations - chapter headings and frontispiece - are excellent. There's a small fold in the cloth at the base of front board (production flaw), but the book is near fine with a hint of browning to edges. The yellow, first issue dust jacket is also near fine with a slightly faded spine panel.
