Binding is tight, sturdy, and square; blue cloth boards worn at corners, heel and head of spine worn, small chip at head; 1" stain to top edge of page block starting at head that penetrates @1/2" into…pages at inside corner; text is very good throughout. Bookplate of R.S. Robertson fixed to front end page, relationship to the subject of the book not determined. George Croom Robertson was a Scottish philosopher and follower of Bain (who edited the work) and John Stuart Mill. Like other Scottish philosophers of his time, he made meaningful contributions to the relationship of philosophy and psychology.
