Boards marked and worn with a drip discoloration horizontally underneath the word 'Scarlet' on the backstrip. But the backstrip has retained its bright gilt and red color. Front endpp removed, 217pp text is crisp and unmarked and followed by an interesting albeit hard to read 32pp Mr. Heinemann's Catalogue. There are some well chosen photographs and a few line illustrations throughout.
