Henkels, 1940-1946 Van eind 1940 tot april 1945 publiceerde de clandistiene uitgeverij De Blauwe Schuit in Groningen een veertigtal bundels. De Blauwe Sch…uit is vooral bekend omdat alle uitgaven werden gedrukt door H.N. Werkman. Maar naast het uiterlijk van de reeks is ook de inhoud niet van belang ontbloot: veertien delen kwamen voor rekening van contemporaine Nederlandse dichters als Klaas Heeroma, Martinus Nijhoff, Simon Vestdijk en Hendrik de Vries, terwijl van Bertus Aafjes een aantal bundels in de voorbereidingsfase zijn blijven steken. In deze uitgave zijn de brieven opgenomen die genoemde dichters hebben gewisseld met F.R.A. Henkels, de voornaamste redacteur van De Blauwe Schuit. Veel aspecten van het publiceren tijdens de oorlog komen aan de orde, maar ook de gezamenlijke gevangenschap van Vestdijk en Henkels, de onderduikperiode van Aafjes, de eigen clandistiene uitgeefactiviteiten van Heeroma en de nauwelijks door de oorlog aangeraakte De Vries. Een uitgave van het Letterkundig Museum Achter het Boek 36 0 g.
