She made her classical debut as a recitalist at New York's Town Hall and opera debut as Mimi in Puccini's La Bohème (1955). She preferred a career as a recitalist singing German Lieder, Negro spirituals, and art songs. John (Giovanni) P. Pitcherale (1919?-1998) was a friend of The Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is also listed as one of the principal correspondents in The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt. Condition: Fine condition. Signed by Author(s).

Adele Addison, an African-American opera singer, a soprano, and was th…e singing voice for Bess (played by Dorothy Dandridge) in the 1959 movie 'Porgy and Bess.' Signed by Adele Anderson beneath her portrait and printed name. Measuring circa 5 1/2 by 8 inches, printed on both sides, illustrated reproducing a black-and-white photograph of Adele Addison, depicted from the shoulders up, facing the camera, smiling. Prints a twenty-three line statement about Adele Addison, including biographical material and details of previous performances. Verso prints an advertisement for a performance of Handel's Messiah; also by the Worcester Oratorio Society.
