Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 329 pages with index + 18 photo plates and illustrations. Translated form the 3rd german edition with added material. Some foxing to endpapers and page edges, black cloth gilt titles on spine and motif on top board. Inscription on endpaper " November. To Bill with best birthday wishes from Gwen & Maurice 1942". (Bill was William Podmore OBE who worked on jet engines with Sir Frank Whittle. His home was Consall Hall, Wetley Rocks Nr Stoke. (others we have from this estate are also being listed.) Octavo. Good with contents about Very Good.
