Einträge im CSBN). - Der CSBN zeigt in den Einträgen unter Griffini, dass noch weitere seiner Arbeiten in dem renommierten Verlag von Hoepli erschienen sind. - Ulrico (Johann Ulrich) Hoepli (Tuttwil TG 1847-1935 Mailand), ref., von Tuttwil-Wängi. 1862-1870 Lehre und Ausbildung als Buchhändler in Zürich, Mainz, Triest und Breslau. 1870 liess sich Hoepli in Mailand nieder und erwarb 1871 eine kleine Buchhandlung mit Buchbinderei. In der Folge erlebten die nach Hoepli benannte Buchhandlung, der Verlag und das Antiquariat einen kometenhaften Aufstieg und wurden international bekannt. Verlegerische Schwerpunkte lagen auf dem Gebiet von Wissenschaft und Technik (ab 1875 ?Manuali Hoepli?) und der italienischen Klassik (ab 1896 ?Biblioteca classica hoepliana?). Bis 1935 brachte Hoepli rund 7'000 Werke heraus und zählte zu den wichtigsten Verlegern Italiens. Ab 1933 verlegte er auch die ?Scritti e discorsi? von Benito Mussolini. Daneben war er bereits zu Lebzeiten in Italien und der Schweiz als Mäzen tätig: Die 1911 begründete Ulrico-Hoepli-Stiftung gehört heute zu den bedeutenden Kulturstiftungen der Schweiz.
