Published by Sands and Co Publishers (Covent Garden) Ltd in 1938, here is the first hardback printing of the Abbe Bardy's THE CHURCH AT THE END OF THE 1ST CENTURY Translated by P.W.Singleton. 163 pages, blue cloth binding, gilt lettering, the book is in very good condition with some moderate spotting to the cloth coversand the name of a previous owner (the Oxford scholar and Hertford College fellow Anthony Cockshut) written lightly in pencil to the front free end paper. The dust jacket is near fine with a modicum of light staining/ browning. A magnificent and extremely rare 1st edition offering.
