Presumed first edition. 95pp. including 7 of 8 colour illustrations by various artists (lacking the frontispiece). This is a collection of over sixty songs for children, with music. It includes many well-known songs such as Girls and Boys Come Out to Play, Jack and Jill, Little Bo-Peep, Rub-a-Dub Dub, and Three Blind Mice. There are also a large number of less well known songs. The contents are in good to very good condition with many of the pages, mostly near the start of the book and including the title-page, having stains and marks from grubby fingers, etc. The list of illustrations and several other pages, including some of the plates, have tears of about 1" to 2" on the edges that have been repaired with document repair tape. Page 18 has a larger tear of about 5 1/2" on the bottom edge that has also been repaired. Pages 9 to 12 have creases across the top corner. As mentioned above, the frontispiece is missing.
