Friedrich Gottlieb Stebler (1852 â" 1935) was a Swiss agriculturalist and ethnographer. A…s an agriculturalist he published works on forage crops, alpine agriculture and pastoralism. From 1888 to 1899 he issued the exsiccata series Schweizerische Gräser-Sammlung, first with Carl Joseph Schrà ter and later with Albert Volkert. From 1889 to 1916 he was editor of the Schweizerischen Landwirtschaftlichen Zeitung. Carl Joseph Schrà ter (1855 â" 1939) was a Swiss botanist who was a pioneer in the fields of phytogeography and phytosociology. He was co-author of Die besten Futterpflanzen, etc. (1883â"1884), a work involving forage crop cultivation and economics, offered here in English translation by A.N. Alpine.
