No Binding. Condition: Good. Boxed set of 24 sepia tone printed photographs enclosed in a box and accompanied by an explanatory essay on a folded sheet printed on goldenrod paper. The photographs and sheet are in excellent condition, but the box is worn with creasing on backside and some tears and wear around edges. NOT signed by anyone. The photos are NOT bound and somewhat resemble postcards except they are a different size and are not meant for mailing.

Leon Levinstein (1910-1988) was an American photographer who documented everyday street life in New York City--as well as in other places in his travels. This large format, hardcover edition was limited to 2500 copies. Some test is in English and French, but most is in English. Original gray cloth publisher's covers with blindstamped gray spine and cover lettering. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings, no previous owner names and no bookplates that appears to have been seldom used. The gray dust jacket has white spine and cover lettering and a photo of Levinstein on the front wrapper; there is a tiny tear and crimp to bottom edge of the rear panel, else it is in very nice condition with no other chips, tears, or markings.; B&W & Color Photographs, Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 313 pages.
