Cloth. Condition: Very Good. Arthur Garratt (illustrator). An interesting and beautifully presented anthology of prose and verse about Eton College. Featuring 30 hand tipped coloured plates with captioned guards, reproduced from paintings by Arthur Garratt and Eton portraits, including a frontispiece of King Henry VI. There is an inscription to the front free-endpaper reading: 'L.H. Vassall from A.C. Rayner-Wood. Eton. Dec 12th 1917'. A.C. Rayner-Wood appears to have been an Eton housemaster. He fought in the First World War, and was the author of 'Twenty Years After: The Letters of an Eton Housemaster' (published 1939). In a cloth binding, with a gilt Eton crest to each board. Externally, bumped, with some marks. Spine darkened, with slight loss to the top and tail. Internally, generally firmly bound, though with some spotting and occasional handling marks, becoming prominent to the first and last few pages. Very Good. book.

Some darkening and handling marks to cover, a couple of surface chips to edges of front board, and small chip to rear edge nr bottom of spine. Ribbon fastening lost. Some minor darkening to prelims.
