32 pp. Illustrated, with many images [& product descriptions] of their many models of sewing machines. 16mo. 5-9/16" x 3-1/4" Davis, founded in 1868, distinguished their sewing machines from other machines of the era by using a "Vertical Feed" mechanism. "These machines have no feed dogs at all. Instead, they have two presser feet, one of which, along with the needle bar, moves the cloth while the needle is still through the cloth. The other, larger, presser foot is used to hold the cloth stationary while the needle lifts out of the cloth and moves forward to get ready for the next stitch. While Davis called this mechanism their 'Vertical Feed', sewing machines with similar mechanisms are now known as 'walking foot' machines." [Wiki]. Minor wear, soiling & age-toning, a VG+ survivor. 6, [2] pp (including wrappers). Illustrated with 7 color lithograph vignettes. 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" This scarce booklet [none found on OCLC] takes the form of a letter from Ms Green to "Mr Benjamin H. Anibal, Vice President of Engineering, Oakland Motor Car Co." wherein she commends Mr Anibel for the engineering attributes of the Oakland All-American Six, for said attributes are "what women have been seeking in their cars for years. . I predict that your beautiful Landau will be the woman's car of America." Oakland Motor Car Co flourished from 1907 - 1931, here they make an obvious sales effort recognizing the importance of soliciting the approbation of the fairer sex, in itself, a rather forward-thinking view of the day, and one acknowledging the growing economic clout of women as they left the home & pursued careers other than homemaker.
