This is a large hardcover of 12 X 9 inches. The two integral maps, including the two-color folding map of the Salt Range and the Jhelum River (to illustrate Alexander's crossing of the Hydaspes), remain firmly bound in. The two larger maps originally found in the large map pocket at rear, however, are MISSING. Some text portions have been marked for emphasis to the margins with pencil. Bookmark of the Universitatis Bristolliensis stamped "Withdrawn" to front pastedown. Some of the plates bear tiny "University of Bristol" blindstampings to the white margins. 267 pp. including Index, followed by the 34 glossy plates. Reduced from $700. With 88 glossy B&W illustrations and 34 plates of pottery and decorated shards, mostly B&W, but a few in color (illustrator).
