Original blind stamped and gilt decorated green cloth with beautiful bright gilt cactus flower on front cover labeled "E Spinis Flos" and large insignia in the thick gilding seal "Geological Survey of California", "Instituted MDCCCLX." on back, solidly bound with plain reddish brown end papers, bumped corners and minor rubbing, end papers have some folds and dust staining on back. Ex library with large paper label of "Library Regulations of the Geological Society" on front fixed end paper, blind stamp on title page of "Geological Society of London Burlington House", rubber stamps on a few other pages.
