First Edition
Seventeenth edition (as stated upon title page). [2], 1-186, [4] pages plus covers. Paperback; H 19.75cm x L 13.25cm. Dark tan paper covers well soiled, 2cm paper loss at spine heel with shallow chipping at head and scuffing and several small chips lengthwise, top corners of rear cover and last two leaves creased. Soiling and some foxing upon edges; three stains upon top edge. Small holes (bug damage) at top corner of lightly foxed title leaf. Bottom corner of pages 181-182 mis-trimmed and folded inwards. Binding is firm and interior leaves are clean. Tuttle publication list on unpaged leaf at rear followed by terminal blank leaf. A good+ copy. Although spiritualist philosopher and publisher Hudson Tuttle (1836-1910) did alter edition and imprint information upon the book's title page between editions, he evidently did not alter the 1900 publishing date upon various editions' copyright pages. As the first edition of MEDIUMSHIP AND ITS LAWS was published in 1900, this seventeenth edition was obviously published several years afterwards. As the Tuttle title list on the aforementioned rear leaf does not cite his 1906 book EVOLUTION OF THE GOD AND CHRIST IDEAS nor his 1907 book A GOLDEN SHEAF, it seems probable that this copy may predate 1906.
