Ludwig XVII, König von Frankreich = Louis Charles de Bourbon (1785 Versailles - 1795 Paris war von Geburt an Titular - Herzog der Normandie sowie nach dem Tod seines älteren Bruders ab 1789 Dauphin von Viennois und damit Kronprinz von Frankreich. Monarchisten führen ihn in der Reihe der französischen Könige als Ludwig XVII, da sie ihn als legitimen Nachfolger des während der Französischen Revolution gestürzten und hingerichteten Ludwig XVI. ansehen. Er regierte jedoch niemals. Ludwig Karl wurde als zweiter Sohn Ludwigs XVI. und dessen Gemahlin Marie Antoinette geboren. Nach dem Tode seines älteren Bruders 1789 wurde er Dauphin (Kronprinz). Nach der Hinrichtung seiner Eltern kam er zu dem Schuster Antoine Simon in die Lehre, einem Jakobiner.
