Jeanette Powers

Jeanette Powers is a poet, painter, polymath roustabout with the heart of a volcano, the lungs of a typhoon and a head full of stars. She writes poetry, novellas and site-responsive non-fiction and takes tremendous joy in creating zines and handmade art books.

JP has published 9 books of poetry and curates the generative performing arts venue, Uptown Arts Bar in Kansas City. She is a founding member of FountainVerse: KC Small Press Poetry Fest which occurs every October and is supported by Charlotte Street Foundation, Chameleon Arts and the Francis Family Foundation. She is a current resident Fellow at Osage Arts Community in Belle, MO where she facilitates programming and outreach.

You can most often find her riverside with her hound dog Olly Mas.
