Mallory Young is Regents Professor Emeritus at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. She received her PhD in Comparative Literature from State University of New York at Buffalo. Her research and writing focus on women's literature and popular culture, including contemporary "chick" culture. She has published articles on numerous subjects and, with Suzanne Ferriss, co-edited two books on chick lit and chick flicks. Her latest collection of essays, co-edited with Julie A. Chappell, focuses on "Bad Girls" in popular culture.
