The volume contains 4 of the most popular and influential moralising stories of the day including 'Dr. Gregory's Father's Legacy to His Daughters', 'Lady Pennington's Unfortunate Mother's Advice to Her Daughters', 'Marchioness De Lambert's Advice of a Mother to Her Daughter' and 'Moore's Fables for the Female Sex'. The volume has been passed down through three generations of the same family. CONDITION: In very good contemporary brown calf boards blind ruled in gilt to edges and spine; a little age worn as expected; a little bumped to corners. Marbled endpapers in very good condition. Inscription to recto of free endpaper reads 'Presented by Thomas E Millner to Mary Ann Greenwood. Later by Thomas E Millner to his grandaughter Elizabeth Millner'. Lacks frontispiece.
