Synopsis

Twan Huys is zijn leven lang al een gepassioneerd wandelaar. Van jongs af aan ging hij met zijn ouders op pad in de heuvels van Zuid-Limburg, op zoek naar zeldzame orchidee�n, ijsvogels en dassen.

In Wandellust verbreedt hij zijn horizon en beschrijft de mooiste wandelgebieden van Nederland. In een turbulent jaar vindt hij rust tijdens lange tochten, soms met zijn vader en moeder, beiden ver in de tachtig, soms met vrienden en bekenden als Herman Finkers, prinses Irene, Geert Mak en Jane Goodall.

Wandelen is uitgegroeid tot een nationale hobby. Het is altijd weer inspirerend, louterend en soms zelfs helend. Zoals Hippocrates zijn leerlingen al meer dan tweeduizend jaar geleden voorhield: ‘Wandelen is het beste medicijn.’
Voor alle miljoenen Nederlandse wandelaars schreef Twan Huys Wandellust. Hij neemt ons mee van het Springendal tot aan Tiengemeten, van de Veluwe tot aan de Schoorlse Duinen, van Terschelling naar het Limburgse Gerendal, en nog veel verder.

Twan Huys (Sevenum, 1964) is journalist en schrijver. Hij was jarenlang werkzaam als presentator van Nieuwsuur. Ook bedacht en presenteerde hij het programma College Tour. Hij publiceerde eerder onder andere de boeken Ik ben een New Yorker, Over geluk en De Clintons. Momenteel is hij presentator van het tv-programma Buitenhof.
