His mother had to flee from Suhopolje in Croatia on a horse wagon in 1943, destination: unknown. His father was sent from the pigsty to the front as an 18-year-old to fight partisans in Slovenia and France in a German uniform. Nevertheless, the parents' biography had little meaning to the teenage son, they were simply his parents. Only after her death he begins to think about his origin, about escape experiences, about perpetration and fellow runners.
