A poignant look at historical events and pressing issues through the eyes of an octogenarian
All journeys—be it a journey through life or around the world—must come to an end. This raw collection explores some of these many journeys as seen through the eyes of African American octogenarian Elmer Beard.
Featuring 87 poems and an assortment of candid photographs of him traveling across six continents, this collection is a powerful and thought-provoking reflection of our world and its history. Through reminiscing about rural life and remembering loved ones, to addressing racial issues of both yesterday and today, these poems encompass the many emotions in our shared human experience.
We Didn’t Come Here to Stay is the second in a series of collections on Race, Religion & Reflections. Perfect for fans of moving poetry and unique biographies, Elmer Beard’s work is a must-read. Grab a copy today!"Synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
