MECAS, which existed from 1944-1978, was created during World War II to train British diplomats and soldiers in Arab culture. This book provides an insider's perspective on its creation, functioning, and ultimate closure. The book also features 4 pages of black-and-white photographs and color illustrations. Errata slip insert is included. Purchased from author Gail Frey Borden's library. Near fine; on page 145, Borden annotates a correction to the author's discussion of his (Borden's) background.
