Peu de livres ont suscité autant de débats sur la géographie que le livre de l'Exode. Il décrit en détail une série de miracles accomplis par le Seigneur Dieu des Israélites pour les libérer de l'esclavage en Égypte, puis leur traversée du désert jusqu'à une montagne où Dieu descendit et leur donna la Torah. Ces miracles ont alimenté de nombreuses spéculations au cours des 2500 dernières années, mais la traversée du désert et l'emplacement de la montagne de Dieu restent les questions les plus fréquemment débattues.
La plupart des spéculations géographiques proviennent d'érudits chrétiens et musulmans qui ont tenté de retracer le parcours des Israélites hors d'Égypte pour trouver la montagne de Dieu. Cependant, de nombreuses montagnes ont été découvertes le long des lieux mentionnés sur le parcours, car la plupart des emplacements sont sujets à controverse. Une demi-douzaine de montagnes ont été identifiées, chacune associée à une liste de lieux le long du parcours, qui pourraient ou non correspondre aux emplacements originaux. Il ne semble pas s'agir d'un problème nouveau, car même à cette époque, le nom de la montagne dans la Torah et d'autres textes hébraïques anciens changeait d'un paragraphe à l'autre. Cette montagne est appelée Sinaï et Horeb dans la Torah, puis Séir dans le livre des Juges, considéré comme le plus ancien texte hébreu n'ayant pas subi de remaniements importants.
La confusion quant à la localisation de cette montagne provient principalement des diverses interprétations de l'itinéraire emprunté par les Israélites hors d'Égypte, ainsi que de l'identité de ces derniers durant leur séjour en Égypte. Une partie de cette confusion est manifestement due à la traduction de la Septante à la Bibliothèque d'Alexandrie vers 250 av. J.-C. Les traducteurs grecs ont utilisé le terme mer Érythréenne pour traduire l'hébreu Suf Yam , qui signifie simplement mer des Roseaux ou mer des Papyrus . Le terme grec mer Érythréenne était un terme perse adopté qui désignait l'océan Indien, le golfe Persique, le golfe d'Aden et la mer Rouge. Nul doute que les traducteurs grecs aient voulu se prémunir contre toute éventualité, ignorant tout du lieu où s'étaient déroulés les événements de Souf Yam. Cette erreur de traduction s'est malheureusement perpétuée dans la quasi-totalité des traductions chrétiennes des Écritures hébraïques, où l'on trouve le nom de Mer Rouge , y compris celles issues des textes massorétiques qui ne mentionnent pas la Mer Rouge. Ironie du sort, cette erreur a même été réintroduite en hébreu, où la Mer Rouge est désormais appelée Souf Yam, donnant ainsi l'illusion que la traduction grecque antique était correcte. Or, les textes égyptiens antiques traduits au cours des deux derniers siècles précisent le lieu de l'événement : il ne se situe pas en Mer Rouge, contrairement à ce qu'affirment la quasi-totalité des traductions de la Torah et de la Bible.

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.
Our team will provide full instructions on how to return your order and once received our returns department will process your refund.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to PBShop.store US, Springfield Gardens, New York, U.S.A., +44 1285 712917, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
