About the Author: Kimberly Gordon is an award-winning author and mixed media artist from New York City. She was first recognized for her work when she received the National Gold Key Art Award in Washington, DC for a Mixed media collage Self Portrait. The piece was also on display at the Smithsonian Art Museum. Kimberly later received the Maya Angelou award for Academic Excellence for her written and documentary film work in Africana Studies.
