Print on Demand. This book is a detailed analysis of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's infamous Grave Creek and Fish Creek routes. The author, an experienced civil engineer, delves into the historical debate surrounding these two routes, examining the original comparative estimates that condemned the Grave Creek route. The book's main focus is to expose errors in the original estimates and to demonstrate that the Grave Creek route was, in fact, the superior choice. The book provides a deeper understanding of the factors that influence the planning and construction of railroads, and the significance of accurate data and objective analysis in decision-making. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
