Geoffrey Tickell, brother of the novelist Jerrard Tickell, was one of the group of Muriel Spark's "bachelors" that she socialized with after her relationship wound down with Stanford; he and Stanford collaborated on Conjugal Life, a book of Balzac translations published in 1957.
