He was the son of a teacher , Isabelle American Moodle.Poeta considered one of the founders of modern poetry in his country, expressing , with philosophical simplicity and emotional depth , life and emotions of rural New England man . He studied at Dartmouth College and in 1890 his family moved to Lawrence (Massachusetts) .1 He played several trades , such as a teacher , spinner, shoemaker , farmer, a rural newspaper editor and writer. His world is tragic yet , due to a philosophy of resignation or an elemental wisdom , the tragic dissolves in the natural events of life, with a slight sense of humor.
