He was the son of a teacher , Isabelle American Moodle.Poeta considered one of the founders of modern poetry in his country, expressing , with philosophical simplicity and emotional depth , life and emotions of rural New England man . He studied at Dartmouth College and in 1890 his family moved to Lawrence (Massachusetts) .1 He played several trades , such as a teacher , spinner, shoemaker , farmer, a rural newspaper editor and writer. In 1912 he traveled to England , where he contacted renowned poets as Edward Thomas Lascelles Abercrombie and publishing there his first two books , a collection of poems and a series of dramatic monologues . Was an immediate success and in 1915 returned to the United States, where it was recognized . He subsequently found Mountain Interval (1916 ) , The stream flowing west (1928 ) , A Further Range (1936 ) , In the glade ( 1962) and other volumes of poetry and dramas. His poems reflect the nature linked to the emotions of men who live with a simple language that weaves however maximum or complex morals. His world is tragic yet , due to a philosophy of resignation or an elemental wisdom , the tragic dissolves in the natural events of life, with a slight sense of humor. Behind their rivers , trees , trails and landscapes imminent danger, the potential hazards of nature and the essential mystery of things to their simplest , most primitive characters are faced lies .
